I've just received an email from the Chairman of my host district. I know now that I'm going there with 11 other people: 2 German and one Canadian, Swiss, American, Dane, Belgian, Brazilian, Finn and Taiwanese. It's gonna be fun, so many countries and cultures. Wow.
Now, to be exact: my host district is D9820, Victoria. Melbourne is in that state. To be honest, I'd prefer to go to any smaller town, not to former capital city. I definitely prefer suburbs. Well, even if I go to Melbourne, I'm gonna be happy.
This note is so short, because I'm to happy to write anything more, sorry :D

It's not about GF, but about Australia - yes
Ok... I haven't received my Guarantee Form, so I still don't know how exactly it looks like. I just decided to make a little summary, using help of Auntie Wikipedia.
So: Australia is the only one country that takes the hole continent. It's fauna is unique, and I love animals, so I'll start with them. About 85% of animals are so called endemits - they don't occur in any places except Australia. Som examples of them are kangaroos, platypuses and koalas. Everybody loves koala, so here you go:
OK. And nowe, some different, not so well-known species:

Tasmanian Devil
short-beaked echidna
Dingo dog - they came to Australia with people
Inland taipan. One of the most poisonous snakes in the world ^.^"
This species was killed by human. It's called Thylacine.
At the end, I would like to show you this sweetie, sugar glider:
I'm not very interested in botany, so I'll write only few words about flora: number of endemic species is high also, for example there are eucalyptuses.
Australia is a country where there's more wild areas than those developed, what's caused by climate. There are some famous features such like the Great Barrier Reef or Opera House in Sydney;
Btw, I'm gonna be the Mythbuster - Sydney is NOT the capital city of Australia. Canberra is. I still don't know where exactly I am going so I can't write anything about my city or town (I heard that town in Australia can have even 100 inhabitants). I like small towns, so I'm not gonna cry. Coming back to Canberra's subject: Canberra's area is 814.2 km², and number of inhabitants is nearly 340 thousands (wow, it's less than in a quite normal city near my town). To compare, Sydney has 12 144,6 km² and about 5,3 million inhabitants. It;s quite similar to NY City and Washington DC.
I don't know much about australian interesting objects, so I googled them. It seems that there are some things worth visiting, such as:
1. Sydney
2. Melbourne
3. Outback (wild, dry areas)
4. Uluru Rock
5. Few National Parks,
6. Aborigines' culture
7. The Great Barrier Reef
and many, many others. I'm not going to see them all, to bo honest. I just hope I'll manage to visit at least few.
And now the best subject: food.
It seems that Aussies have cuisine similar to British, but I found few interesting dishes:
1. Pavlova (Pawłowa) - New Zealands say it's THEIR dish:
2. Anzac Biscuits - they were created to be food for soldier's, that would remain eatable:
3. Lamingtons - they look soooooo delicious:
And that's all. I found some other things, but they weren't as interesting as these 3.
To sum up: I'm going to civilized country where food seems to be quite normal. However, when I go there, I'll probably be surprised. Now I only have to receive my GF, make a passport (year ago it expired), get visa and buy plane tickets. Yay!

Attention please! We're setting off!
So... well... on 30 March 2014 I got an information that if I want, I can go for exchange to Australia, but I must answer quickly if I really WANT to. I was so happy that I started to jump and I at a glance replied that "of course I want to go". All my friends that are going to exchange had known that they go earlier thus I was stressed I didn't get any message. But well, I finally know I'm going and it's enough for now :D
To start from the scratch: on september 2013, at the beggining of our school year, our form teacher told us about possibility of going to international exchange. I thought then "why would i go there? It makes no sense, I'd only lose a year of schooling". I said I wouldn't go for exchange and I kept believing in it until my parents came back from parent-teacher meeting. Then, they asked if I was sure I didn't want to go to exchange and why. They didn't even try to make me want, they were just curious. But their curiosity caused that I decided that I WANT to go. I went to headmaster of our school - he helps us in paperwork. He was a member of organization I decided to go with - Rotary. It's probably the cheapest organization I could choose because they don't get money for exchange, except 900 zlotys (about 270$) for district.
I started to fill my aplication and finaly, on November or December, sent it with my friend to Cracow, the city where aplications must be sent.
At the beggining of March my friend, Magdalena, and one more friend got to know that they go to USA- - I knew it was a very quick reply form Rotary, but I started to fall into depression since I didn't know anything. The date of receiving Guarantee Form (I'll write more about it in next post, when I receive it) was to 15 March, while I didn't have anything. The fact is that I was told that many so called Inbounds receive GF even in April and later, but it didn't decrease my stress.
However, on 30 March I got to know I AM going to Australia and that's the point. Since then, everything seems to be easier and easier. I'm just wondering if something eats me on first, ot the last day of my exchange.
